Run Like Cathy

Check out Cathy Freeman’s famous 400m win at the Sydney 2000 Games.

 

This program was one that she used in her training for this event.

 

Time yourself over 200m at 100% (the distance between telegraph poles is roughly 50m) then work out how long it would take you to run the same distance at 80% speed. eg. 100% = 28 secs ÷ 5 = 5.6secs.

80% = 28 + 5.6 = 33.6secs 

 

Session: each run should be at your 80% speed (or under)

 

200m: rest for 5mins

200m: rest for 4mins

200m: rest for 3mins

200m: rest for 2mins

200m: rest for 1min

200m: keel over and die
